Help me dehydrate.
Santa was very good to me this year. I got a food dehydrator!! I've been wanting one for nearly a year now, and was so excited to finally get one. Honestly, I only wanted a dehydrator to make these really rockin' raw corn chips that I have a recipe for. Of course, I'll make some fruit roll ups that I can actually let me kids eat, and dried apples are a must. But, I need help, I don't really know what else to do with this machine.
I know there are all kinds of things I can make in here, breads, crackers, etc. So, I'm asking a favor. Send me your favorite dehydrator recipes please. Comment with your favorite recipes or links to your favorites. Help me get some use out of my new toy.

Hey there, I stumbled across your blog via a friend's blogroll! :) I recently got a dehydrator too, and I recommend starting off simple - like you mentioned, dried apples are a must! Plaintains work better than bananas, and tomatoes taste good too... As for "Real" recipes, I recommend trying Gena's raw carrot falafel (http://www.choosingraw.com/carrot-falafel-with-tangy-tahini-sauce/) or making some raw bread (http://www.choosingraw.com/adventures-in-raw-bread-making/)
ReplyDeleteGood luck! :)

I have never used a dehydrator but I can't wait to hear what you make with it! We should have another lunch date soon :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the responses ladies. So far I've made the corn chips (0bviously), fruit roll ups, dehydrated sweet potatoes sprinkled with cinnamon and raw sugar, and dehydrated clementines.
ReplyDeletealetheia - Gena's falafel was on my list of "must-makes" and a friend sent an onion bread recipe that's on that list as well.
Hopefully I can get my act together and get a blog post written showing some of my goodies!!
